Member Firms Awarded Blood Center Foundation Grants

Blood Center Foundation of the Inland Northwest recently announced five grants totaling nearly $45,000 to local organizations. The recipients include Providence Health Care Foundation Eastern Washington (Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center School of Medical Laboratory Science), Wenatchee Valley College Foundation, Providence Health Care Foundation Eastern Washington (SHMC Student Scholarships), INBC technology and INBC Center for Bedside Transfusion Verification at Rockwood and Providence Hospitals. Thank you to the Foundation for the great work they’re doing in our community!

Congratulations to member executive Dr. Rachae Bell of Clear Chiropractic on her extreme honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame at her Alma Mater, University of Redlands. Dr. Bell was a dual-athlete at the University, excelling in both volleyball and basketball, becoming the Volleyball program’s first All-American and held the honor for back-to-back seasons and currently holds the school’s record for digs! May Ward awarded Committee Chairperson for LHM Charities

Congratulations to member Representative May Ward with Larry H. Miller Hyundai, on her appointment to the Larry H. Miller Charities Committee Chairperson position. All employees of the LHM group participate in the “Give 5” program, allocating funds from their paycheck to a local pool that will be distributed in their market to local charities. EWI of Spokane 2016 Scholarship Program Awards $15,000 to Local Students

On May 17, EWI of Spokane held our annual EWISP (Executive Women International Scholarship Program) and ASIST (Adult Students in Scholastic Transition) Scholarship Awards Banquet. We were treated to a powerful presentation by Sharma Shields, Author and past Spokane Lilac Princess who was dethroned as a result of life choices she made as a teenager. Her open and candid speech encouraged our students and audience to own up to your mistakes upfront to prevent additional repercussions in the future.
