EWI proudly offers two programs, EWISP and ASIST, to help qualified applicants achieve their academic goals. EWI Chapters that participate in these programs develop their own criteria regarding deadlines, areas of limitation, eligible schools and partner agencies. EWI of Spokane participates in both programs.
EWI Scholarship Program (EWISP)
Students planning to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution may apply for an EWI Scholarship award.
In 2017, EWI of Spokane will award three scholarships to high school juniors in the amounts of $6,000, $3,000, and $2,000 to be applied to college tuition, books or related expenses.
Students must be enrolled full time in a public, private, or parochial school located within the territorial boundaries of EWI of Spokane. Up to three (3) juniors from each area high school are eligible to apply.
Students who wish to apply should consult with their school counselor. Applications must be submitted to the appropriate school counselor who will determine which applications will be considered by the EWI panel of evaluators. The deadline for the 2017 EWISP Application is March 10, 2017.
To apply, students must complete the EWISP Application. Applicants must provide four (4) copies of the completed application, which includes:
• Completed EWISP Application Form
• Autobiographical essay
• Listing of awards and honors
• Copy of unofficial transcripts
• Two letters of recommendation: one from a sponsoring school official and one from a personal contact (other than a school official)
Carefully review the Submission Checklist provided with the EWISP application and verify that you have all your documents (and copies) completed and attached before sending your packet to EWI of Spokane. No handwritten applications will be considered. All submissions must be typewritten and printed in black ink.
