Dear EWI of Spokane Members,
I’m writing this with a heavy heart. As many of you know firsthand, our community is in the middle of an unprecedented crisis. Fires have swept through Spokane, and so many of our members, friends, and neighbors are dealing with evacuations, uncertainty, and loss.
In moments like this, EWI is exactly what it should be: a community that shows up for each other. I’ve been moved by the outreach we’ve already received, including from our EWI Corporate family, offering prayers and support from afar. That kind of connection is why we do this work.
I know some of you are in flux right now, and our August business meeting may not be possible for everyone to attend. I understand, and please don’t feel guilty if you can’t be there. But we do have important Chapter business on the agenda this month, including officer elections and a budget vote, and we need a quorum to conduct it. So if you’re able to join us, please do. Your presence matters more than ever.
If you are impacted and need anything, please reach out—to me, to your Board, to your fellow members. We are eager to help, however we can.
Take care of yourselves and each other. Addy shared something at our last meeting that has stayed with me since: I am with you. I can’t think of a better way to close this letter.
