Letter from the President – December 2024

by Jen Goe, Disaster Response
EWI of Spokane Chapter President

As the holiday season fills the air with a sense of joy and connection, I find myself reflecting on the meaningful moments that shaped this year. One of the highlights was our November meeting at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. What a fitting time to celebrate the values of courage, confidence, and character—ideals that shine brightly during this season of giving and growth.

Our evening with the Girl Scouts was nothing short of inspiring. The young women of Troop 2201 blessing us with the inspiration was just amazing! Their enthusiasm and dedication were a gift to all of us, a beautiful example of the future leaders we strive to uplift and support.

We were privileged to hear from Girl Scouts CEO Brian Newberry, whose passion for empowering young women is truly remarkable. Brian’s words, “Girl Scouts are the giants’ shoulders we stand on,” resonated deeply, reminding me that building strong communities begins with fostering the growth and potential of the next generation.

As EWI members, we share a kindred mission with the Girl Scouts: promoting leadership, building confidence, and strengthening connections. This holiday season, let us be inspired by their example, embracing opportunities to lead with courage, support others with confidence, and act with character in everything we do.

May this season of hope and togetherness bring new opportunities for growth and collaboration. Thank you for all you do to make EWI a source of strength and empowerment in our community. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and inspiring holiday season!

Cheers!
