Letter from the President – October 2019 Connect

Greetings Friends!

It is with much appreciation for our friends at Spokane Convention Center that I share a huge shout out for our incredible September installation meeting on their gorgeous roof deck, where the clock tower so beautifully stood behind us; the lunch was perfect and the company even better. The day was special with the installation of your EWI of Spokane 2019/2020 board of directors, who are ready to lead and ensure much success for the coming year. We were enlightened with an incredible message on finding your blue flame by Sinéad Voorhees, MBA Director, Whitworth University – outlining the convergence of your passion and ability, blended beautifully with your lifestyle; have you been inspired to find your blue flame? You can download the worksheet here.

What a successful Wine & Win event this year. A huge thanks to Mary Farnsworth of Melaleuca the Wellness Company! It was wonderful to spend time together with all of you, relaxing along the Spokane River at the lovely Maryhill Winery while supporting our great organization.

EWI’s 2019 Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting took us to Milwaukee, WI in September where we were privileged to represent EWI of Spokane throughout the conference and meeting. EWI’s Corporate President, Felicia Senter, shared her vision for the year in just a few words: Empower. Engage. Inspire. We were inspired with a story of Lucille Johnson Perkins during the corporate board installation, which took me on a quest to find out more about her and I was led to this video. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. She was engaging and inspiring for sure!

As we look ahead to our year, I encourage you to be engaged, share your heart and many talents with us. At our Chapter meeting this month, you will have an opportunity to hear about our committees and choose where you would like to engage this year. As you may have heard: Many Hands Make Light Work!

With much love ~

Melissa

PS – Coffee Connection is coming your way. Let’s connect with a coffee (or tea or soda or your favorite snack!) and your EWI friends. Our first one will be Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30am at Vessel Coffee Roasters, 2823 N Monroe Street, Spokane, WA 99205. I hope to see you there!
