Letter from the President – February 2020

Greetings Friends,

WOW! What an inspiring evening at the Girl Scouts and presentation from Brian Newberry, CEO, about the incredible work they are doing in our community to engage young women, teaching them so many life skills, and encouraging them to be incredible leaders. Thank you to their rep, Stacie Davis, for her kind hospitality and for setting up the room so beautifully for all of us. And thank you to Ellie Aero with Beacon Hill Catering & Events for the wonderful dinner!

As Brian shared the Girl Scouts’ mission, I have been thinking more about our mission and vision statements, and how we’re incorporating them into what we do in our Chapter, with our committees, programming for our meetings, etc., and I thought this would be a perfect time to share some insights on what mission and vision statements mean.

What is a Mission Statement? What is a Vision Statement?

Mission Statement:
the actions that one does daily to achieve their vision.

OUR EWI MISSION: Executive Women International (EWI) brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of: promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development, and encouraging community involvement.

Vision Statement:
Shares where an organization will be in the future and what they strive to look like.

OUR EWI VISION: To enhance professional growth and development within a diverse group of women while empowering them to make a difference as they inspire others.

It would be my heartfelt wish for each of you to reference our mission statement as we move through our committees and do the diligent work you all do for our Chapter to achieve our great vision together!

Wishing you a month filled with much love ❤

Melissa

PS – Coffee & Connections will be Friday, February 21, 7:30am at 1st Avenue Coffee; I hope to see you there for another great opportunity to visit with your EWI friends and bring a potential new member or friend to share a glimpse of EWI with.
