“Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring.”- Lilly Pulitzer

Happy Spring, I think? 😊 I’m not sure about you all but I’m ready for some much-needed sunshine and warm weather! I feel like we got the typical “Spokane” sneak peak of warm weather, to be closely followed by snow showers.

This month is Women’s History Month, where we celebrate the countless women who have fought tirelessly and courageously for equality, justice, and opportunity in our nation. Reading up on this a little further, my favorite piece came from an article from The White House, which said “We are mindful that we are building on the legacy of both recognized trailblazers and unsung heroines who have guided the course of American history and continue to share its future.”

At our last monthly meeting, our wonderful guest speaker, Justin Kobluk, President of WestCoast Entertainment, shared some behind the scenes stories and facts about the arts industry in Spokane. Often, consumers don’t get such insight about how bringing shows and events to Spokane are years in the making or what types of shows do best in our market (such as Cats). One of the most interesting things Justin kept coming back to was just how important building relationships is in this industry. He shared many stories about how his success getting those top notch shows or musicians throughout the years came down to the partnerships that had been built years before. Just like EWI of Spokane, the relationships we continue to create today can lead to great things in our future!
