Letter from the President – May 2023

by Amanda Landreth, STCU
EWI of Spokane Chapter President

As we approach our May Chapter meeting, I am excited to attend our upcoming scholarship celebration! This is a time for us to come together and recognize the hard work and dedication of our scholarship recipients. These young scholars are the future leaders of our community, and we are proud to support their education and career goals.

This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we also celebrate EWI’s 44th year as a Chapter of EWI. Our organization has a rich history of empowering individuals and promoting professional development. It is an honor to be a part of this legacy and to continue the work of those who came before us. This year, the scholarship committee has done a wonderful job working with school counselors, students, and our community judges. Without their dedication, time, and energy, we wouldn’t have such a remarkable program to be so proud of!

I would like to take a moment to thank our April guest speaker, Jaime Stacy, founder of SWAG, for her contributions to our community. Jaime’s dedication to mentoring and promoting women’s leadership has inspired many of us and we are grateful for her ongoing support to the many young people in our schools.

As we come together for our Chapter meeting, let us remember Jaime’s words of wisdom: motivation is a spark, inspiration comes from the heart, and grace is more important than perfection. Let us also remember the importance of mentors, and that life is a continuous learning journey. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact in our community and empower the next generation of leaders.

Thank you for your continued support of EWI and we look forward to celebrating our scholarship recipients and our organization’s history with you all.
