EWI is committed to the promotion of literacy, which has been the focus of EWI’s philanthropy projects since 1992. “Reading Rally” events are one of the ways EWI promotes literacy in the community. Throughout the years, these events have enriched lives by gaining knowledge, meeting a diverse group of people, and making a difference in today’s youth across the nation. It has made a difference for more than 17,000 children across the country.

Volunteers will work directly with small groups of 4th or 5th graders, helping them through a literacy activity.  This year, we are partnering with member firm Communities in Schools, who will provide and direct the program activities.  We have scheduled a local author, Tayla Tollefson, to read an excerpt from her book Why.  The activities that follow will help the children with their reading comprehension skills.
