Each year, EWI of Spokane honors two of its members – The Most Valuable New Player of the Year and the Representative of the Year. These awards recognize the representative that exemplifies the principles and the mission statement goals of EWI. The Representative of the Year Award is given to a representative that has been a member of the Chapter for more than two years, and the Most Valuable New Player Award is given to a member of less than two years. Philanthropy Update - KSPS Pledge Drive

On March 9, EWI of Spokane volunteers participated in the KSPS pledge drive. Participants are first educated on the protocol for taking phone pledges and how the system works. During scheduled "breaks" in programming, viewers from Spokane, Calgary and Edmonton phone in their support by pledging a monetary contribution, in turn receiving a special Thank You gift, typically an item from the scheduled program. Member Firm Steam Plant Celebrated Centennial

On March 5, 2016, Spokane’s Iconic Steam Plant celebrated 100 years as a community icon! On March 5, 1916, Harry A. Flood, President of Merchants Central Heating Company (now known as Steam Plant) opened the valves to start operation, and the plant operated in downtown Spokane until 1986. After sitting idle for 10 years, the plant was remodeled into the beautiful, functional building it is today, complete with a restaurant, brewery, shops, and other businesses.
